Josef Beyer's work celebrates the essential meaning of light and shadow in photography. The Dresden born photographer started his artistic experience with an apprenticeship and following employment as light and sound technician in Munich's renowned Kammerspiele theatre, achieving expertise in usage of light in the most difficult settings. His path led him further to a successful accomplishment of a bachelor of Arts with a focus on documentary photography, portraiture and still life. Beyer's debut book KAMMERSPIELE follows five actors from the eponymous theatre, capturing their most intimate moments behind the stage and documenting the highlights of their theatrical careers in the year 2015-2016.
